Dan Smith
Pastor & Principal
Dan was appointed to serve as Connect Church Pastor January 1, 2017.
Prior to that, he served as Pastor of Rosewood Heights Church in East Alton, IL for 24 years.
The attributes that best describe Dan as a pastor are strong preaching, leadership development and counseling. He has expressed a burning desire to lead a church like Connect Church where biblical views are embraced and encouraged, with members who care about the needs of those around them and who want to connect others to the body of Christ. Dan takes worship and preaching very seriously, spending the his day focused on Bible study, prayer and administration.
He attended St. Louis Christian College, Belleville Area College and Oakland City University in 1988 - 1995 with a certificate in pastoral studies.
Dan has been happily married for 30 years to his wife, Angie. They have 4 children: Jordan, Sarah, Anna & Olivia.

James Denton
Youth Pastor/ Childrens Ministry Director
James Denton was presented with the Youth leader position January of 2022. He then took on the position full-time February or 2022 and is now the Youth Pastor. He is married to Anna Denton with a little dog Oscar and a cat named Earl! He is called and qualified by God to serve as the Youth Pastor and Director of Childrens Ministry!
Matthew Wilson
Team Lead of Childrens Ministry
Matthew Wilson has been in Childrens ministry for over 3 years. He has shadowed his mother for who has done ministry 15 years+ he has experience not only on his own but under the belt of a great teacher! He started off at FBC and then later went to Bethesda Baptist Church in Granite City Il. and has been there for the last 2 years. He has now moved to Connect Church as of January 1st, where God has called him to now serve his time. Under the management of Youth Pastor James Denton, Matthew will be Team Lead of this department.
Pam McPherson
Team Lead of Jr. Youth Group
Pam is married to bass player Mike McPherson and they have 3 children and a grandson and grand-daughter they love so much! Pam has been in charge of Junior Youth for 2 years now and is outstanding with Young Teen kids! She is fun, vibrant, and heartfelt! Has a passion for young people to learn the and know the heart of God.
